Safety Officer
Safety officers provide safety management, advice, monitoring, and reporting in the workplace, and engage staff in programs that ensure safe practice in the workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly reports to EHS Superintendent and monitors / evaluates the compliance with OSH standards;
- Leads the inspection and tagging of all equipment, lifting gears, and fire extinguishers on-site prior to deployment;
- Monitor the compliance of the operation’s group in maintaining good housekeeping on-site;
- Facilitate the toolbox meeting in different areas;
- Execute the Company policies and programs pro-actively;
- Respond promptly to any accident/incident and conduct an immediate safety investigation and gives recommendations to prevent recurrence of the accident;
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses. Gives recommendation for any improvement in safety standards that needs to be made;
- Identify all hazards and conduct risk assessment during regular safety inspection. Make necessary corrective measures during the inspection as needed to prevent accidents;
- Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the supervisor;
- Formulate HIRAC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Control);
- Monitoring and supervision of overtime works.
Education and Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree, preferably technical, engineering background
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience as Safety Officer, preferably in rental industry
- Presentations and Communication skills
- Great under pressure, and problem solving
- Proficient in MS Office skills
- Good Analytical skills
- Has experience in Identifying Hazards
- Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements
- Knowledge on evaluation and safety inspection of crane and other equipment as well as its implements
- Certified DOLE OSH/BOSH/COSH Practitioner is an advantage
- Willing to be assigned in any locations in the Philippines
